Affiliate disclosure

How this site pays for itself, and the rules we keep while it does.

Last updated 17 October 2026

The short version

Some links on KOAlil are affiliate links. If you book or buy through one, I may earn a commission. You pay the same price either way.

Who I work with

Right now, one partner: Klook. Its links appear only in my Before you land section, on things like rail passes, eSIMs and tickets.

How you’ll know

Every article that contains affiliate links says so at the top: “This post contains affiliate links.” Articles without that line have none.

The rules I keep

  • I decide what to recommend first, then check whether a link exists. Never the other way round.
  • If a pass or product isn’t worth it for most people, I say so, even when it’s the one I could earn from.
  • I don’t take money from tourism boards, hotels or local governments in exchange for coverage.
  • I only link to things I’d use myself.

Questions

If a link looks wrong or a recommendation seems off, tell me.
